What: Knowledge Management and Research and Extension workshop
When: 17 - 21 October, 2016
Where: Pohnpei, FSM
The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) as lead actor will elaborate on information and knowledge management interventions to support its agricultural and forestry policy agenda with its stakeholders in the presence of observers from Palau, Marshall Islands and Nauru during an awareness and capacity building workshop on knowledge management.
This is a collaboration between the European Union (EU) supported intra-ACP Pacific Agriculture Policy Project (PAPP), implemented by the Pacific Community (SPC), and the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and the FSM Department of Resources and Development, Ministry of Agriculture.
The capacity building workshop will provide the basis of informing key stakeholder such as agricultural officers, including extension and rural advisory services (RAS), research officers and information management officers to understand the need to efficiently share and manage knowledge. These officers who are already using some knowledge management methods and techniques will acquire additional capacity to capture the knowledge generated in the field, documentation, and translating into learning and dissemination for wider adoption.
Strengthening capacity and knowledge management practices in the work of agriculture stakeholders requires continuous documentation and sharing of experiences and a multi-sectoral approach to foster collaboration and identification of good practices.
